Met de volgende opdracht wordt de Avamar-gebruikswaarde opgevraagd:

snmpbulkwalk -On -c public -v2c <ip-address> .1.3.6.1.4.1.15597.1.1.3.2.5
.1.3.6.1.4.1.15597.1.1.3.2.5 = INTEGER: 27 
De getallenreeks kan in twee delen worden opgesplitst:
      • De blauwe getallen vertegenwoordigen de Avamar Management Information Base (MIB)  
        .1.3.6.1.4.1.15597
      • De getallen in het groen zien de hiërarchie van 'opleverbare' informatie. 
        .1.1.3.2.5

Dit houdt in dat: Software, MCS, dpn, dpnData, utilization.

Dit is visueel te zien door de niveaus van de hiërarchie te markeren met een screenshot van het MIB-tekstbestand (/usr/local/avamar/doc/AVAMAR-MCS-MIB.txt):
