The Brighness in Windows Mobility Center Does Not Correspond with the On Screen Display in Windows 7
 

The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the bightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. Adjusting the brightness level using the <Fn> + <Down> or <Up> key combinations has no effect on the reported level with the Quickset OSD. Additionally, after a few moments of adjusting the brightness using the keyboard combinations, the Windows Mobility Center will revert to the maximum brightness setting (Figure 1).

Currently, updating the system BIOS and installing a new version of Quickset are the only two possible solutions, but may not resolve the compatibility issue. Old versions of Quickset are incompatible with Windows 7.

Download and Install the Latest Version of Dell™ QuickSet
 

To download and install the latest version of Dell Quickset, perform the following steps:

1. Click here to enter the Drivers and Downloads page.

2. Click on

   Enter a Tag

   to use your service tag to find the driver, then click

   Go

   .
    

   	Note:
   	If the Service Tag is not available, click on Select Model , select the appropriate Product Type and Product Model, then click Confirm .

3. Select the operating system installed on your computer from the Operating System: dropdown box.

4. Select Applications from the Category: dropdown box.

5. Click the desired driver for your system displayed in the File Title(s) column to display the download page.

    

   	Note:
   	If you have the information provided from the online System Information utility or your invoice, please refer to this for what drivers to download.

   
   Review the information on the page and take note of  Installation Instructions, and Important Information.

6. Click Download. You may receive a warning and an option to run or save the file.

7. Click Save.

8. When the Save As window appears, designate a folder to save the file that is being downloaded and click Save. The download progress window displays.

9. When the download is complete, follow the instructions provided in the Installation Instructions.

De meest recente BIOS-versie downloaden en installeren
 

1. Ga naar de pagina Drivers en Downloads.

2. Klik op Voer een tag in om met behulp van uw servicetag de BIOS-update op te zoeken.

    

   	Opmerking:
   	Als de servicetag niet beschikbaar is, selecteert u Selecteer een model en vervolgens het juiste producttype en productmodel.

3. Klik op Verzenden.

4. Selecteer het gewenste Besturingssysteem, de Drivertaal en het Belang in de vervolgkeuzelijsten (Afbeelding 1). In de keuzelijst Categorie kiest u BIOS.

5. Selecteer het BIOS-updatepakket dat u wilt downloaden in de kolom met het opschrift Titel bestand om de downloadpagina weer te geven.

    

   	Opmerking:
   	Raadpleeg het online hulpprogramma voor systeeminformatie of uw factuur om te bepalen welke drivers u dient te downloaden.

6. Lees de informatie op de pagina.

7. Klik op  Nu downloaden. Mogelijk wordt er een waarschuwingsbericht weergegeven en krijgt u de optie om het bestand uit te voeren of op te slaan.

8. Klik op Opslaan.

9. Wanneer het venster Opslaan als wordt weergegeven, dient u een map toe te wijzen waarin het te downloaden bestand moet worden opgeslagen. Vervolgens klikt u op Opslaan.

10. Als het downloaden is voltooid, volgt u de Installatie-instructies.
