SRM | Mismatch in Data Domain Total Disk Capacity due to different capacity units
Summary: The total capacity for the disk does not show correctly due to the data being reported in different units without displaying the respective units.
Symptoms
Solution Pack - Dell Data Domain - The Total Disk Capacity report shows discrepancy.
Affected Report path:
Report Library -> Dell Data Domain -> Summary -> Table View -> Disk Capacity (TiB)
Report Library -> Dell Data Domain -> Inventory -> Arrays -> Disk Capacity (TiB)
Report Library -> Dell Data Domain -> Inventory -> Disks -> Capacity (TiB)
Cause
The Value Settings for the Disk Capacity (TiB) is set to Auto conversion formula in Reports, which is converting GiB value to Auto instead of the desired TiB. When the units are different, the total sum is incorrect.
Resolution
Change the Value Settings unit from Auto to TiB so that the total capacity is correctly displayed in TiB Unit.
Steps:
- Click the Modifications (bar graph) icon on the upper right and choose -> Edit Reports
- On the Edit Mode page, click Report Library -> Dell Data Domain -> Summary -> Table View -> Arrays on the tree node
-
- Report Details: Table-> Value: Disk Capacity (TiB) -> Value Settings
- Scaling Mode -> By Unit
- Change Unit -> GiB TO TiB instead of Auto
- Save
- Repeat steps a and b for the below reports as well:
- Report Library -> Dell Data Domain -> Inventory -> Arrays
- Report Details: Table-> Value: Disk Capacity (TiB) -> Value Settings
- Report Library -> Dell Data Domain -> Inventory -> Disks
- Report Details: Table-> Value: Capacity (TiB) -> Value Settings
