Open Replicator fails to create sessions with XtremIO devices

Symptoms

Attempting the following command:
 

symrcopy -file filename.txt create -copy -name COPY_NAME -pull -hot -nop

'Create' operation execution is in progress for the device list
in device file 'filename.txt'. Please wait...

The REMOTE Copy 'CREATE' operation FAILED. (SYMAPI_C_RCOPY_DISCOVER_ERROR)

An rcopy remote device discover error occurred

 

In the SYMAPI log:

The RCOPY 'CREATE' operation FAILED with: An rcopy remote device discover error occurred

 

Cause

The issue is occurring because the block size on the XIO device is 4096. The "symsan list -sanluns" command output shows the block size of the devices:

Resolution

This is working as designed. The 4096 block size devices are not supported with Open Replicator.
