Dell VNX: How to Enable or Disable Write Cache on LUN Level (User Correctable)

Instructions

In Unisphere navigate to:
Storage > Storage Configuration > Storage Pools > RAID Groups tab > click "RAID GROUP name" > LUNs > Right Click "LUN Name" > Properties > Cache tab > Check/Uncheck "Use SP Write Cache"

Note: Performance will be impacted on the LUN that write cache has been disabled.

****Write Cache can ONLY be disabled for Traditional RAID Group LUNs, NOT Pool LUNs****

Page 19 of the EMC VNX VIRTUAL PROVISIONING white paper states the below:
Pools and subsequently pool LUNs are covered with default cache options that are not tunable like traditional LUNs. The only cache option for a pool is to enable or disable FAST Cache when available.
