Symptoms

De installatie van Unisphere for VMAX 8.3 mislukt met "Error: 8.3 het maken van bestandsnamen is uitgeschakeld", ook al heeft het installatievolume de status "8dot3 name creation is enabled".

Milieu:
  • Microsoft Windows 2012
  • Dell EMC Unisphere voor VMAX: Ver 8.3

Cause

De Windows 8 Dot 3-naamgevingsconventie is standaard uitgeschakeld. U moet het pad naar Windows-systemen controleren. 

 

Resolution

Om dit probleem op te lossen, moet u de variabele "Path" in Windows controleren.

Dit kan op twee manieren:
  1. Via de systeeminformatie-MMC:
Eigenschappen van mijn computer>? Geavanceerde systeemeigenschappen> Omgevingsvariabelen>
  • Bewerk "Path" om het installatiepad voor het SYMCLI\bin-bestand op te nemen. 
  • Zorg er ook voor dat de standaard Windows-variabelen ook aanwezig zijn. Als u deze verwijdert, wordt de fout veroorzaakt.
  1. Of via een opdrachtprompt:
  • Typ "Path" vanuit de opdrachtregel. 
U moet ook controleren of de naamgevingsconventie 8.3 is ingeschakeld in Windows 2012, omdat dit standaard is uitgeschakeld. Bijvoorbeeld:
 
C:\>fsutil 8dot3name set G:
0Het gedrag van 8dot3name is ingesteld.
