Symptoms
The following error commonly occurs on the first attempt to complete a protection plan with cross-region copy:
Reason:1 soft failure(s) occurred: RestError: This request is not authorized to perform this operation.
Cause
This issue results from the inability of the Cloud Snapshot Manager portal site to communicate with the 'CSM Proxy' storage account.
Resolution
The CSM Proxy storage account target for snapshot copy must allowlist the Dell IP ranges.
The CSM portal application communicates with the destination region using the storage account queues to insert commands and read messages during the copy process.
Also, the CSM Proxy Subnet must have access to the CSM Proxy Storage Account as well.
So, the CSM Proxy Storage Account must allow traffic from that subnet.
Check with Dell Technical Support to confirm the current range of IPs to allow on the storage account.
