Netflix Error D7361-1253 or D7361-1254 Using Microsoft Edge Browser

Symptoms

Users may see error code D7361-1253 or D7361-1254 displayed while using Netflix with the Microsoft Edge browser.

Cause

This behavior occurs when the Edge browser tab playing Netflix video is dragged from one display to another. A Digital Rights Management (DRM) decoding issue in the Edge browser has been identified as the root cause.

Resolution

This is not a Dell hardware issue but is isolated to the Microsoft Edge browser. To work around this issue, follow these steps:

  • Use Google Chrome or Firefox to play Netflix.
  • Drag the Microsoft Edge browser to an external monitor before playing the Netflix video.
