2. In this situation even though the destination host was a stand-alone machine, the source computer was part of an Oracle RAC configuration, which the wizard is not able to navigate.
3. The issue is caused when not using catalog database or no catalog connection is used.
4. "ALL" keyword in "RESTORE ARCHIVELOG ALL VALIDATE" statement does not take into account backup retention policy but tries to access all archived redo logs referenced in RMAN repository.
Resolution
Action Plan:
🟆 The recovery wizard does not support Cluster or Oracle RAC systems. Use RMAN command-line interface to perform Oracle restore in such environments.
Then try to check and proceed with either of the following Options :-
Option A:
🟆 Using only the controlfile, no catalog database used:
🟆 Use the below syntax from RMAN command prompt, for validating archive log backups.
1) RMAN> restore archivelog from time='<RECOVERY WINDOWS DAYS#>' validate;
Suppose you have set the recovery window of 7 days, then use the below command.
2) RMAN> show RETENTION POLICY;
RMAN configuration parameters are:
CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 7 DAYS;
3) RMAN> restore archive log from time='SYSDATE-7' validate;

Option B:
🟆 If you have recovery catalog configured, connect to target database and recovery catalog, and "RESTORE ARCHIVELOG ALL VALIDATE;" works without errors.
🟆 Rman target / catalog <username>/<password>@<catalog_tns>
