Yes, Dell fully supports the IBM CPU zEDC.
The zEDC feature is transparent to DASD subsystems. There were no changes to the 2107 controller specification related to this feature. It is implemented only in the host applications and access methods that exploit it issue standard I/O.
zEDC requires no special handing by the DASD subsystem and its use does not impact Dell cache management algorithms.
