NVP-vProxy: NetWorker Server daemon.raw Error "vProxy VM not found, for instance UUID"

Summary: NetWorker Server daemon.raw error indicating the vProxy virtual machine (VM) is not found with instance UUID.

Symptoms

The NetWorker VMware Protection integration is configured with the vProxy Appliance.
The vProxy virtual machine was migrated to a new vCenter server.

The NetWorker server daemon.raw shows an error message every few seconds that it is unable to find the UUID of the vProxy VM.
The virtual machine (VM) backups are successfully completed when running on the reported vProxy.

The daemon.raw shows:
MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS [NETWORKER_SERVER_NAME] nsrd NSR error vProxy '[VPROXY_NAME]' VM not found for instance UUID '50154b1e-4727-a71a-20a6-90b793ffe33d'.

Cause

The VMware vCenter assigns a universal unique identifier (UUID) to every VM when it is created. The vProxy was deployed on a vCenter and registered with the NetWorker Server with the original UUID. The vProxy is later migrated to a new vCenter server, which generates a new UUID, and it no longer matches the NetWorker vProxy certificate.

Resolution

The vProxy must be re-registered against the new vCenter server to generate a new certificate.

The steps to re-register are documented in the "Unregistering and re-registering a vProxy after removal" section of the Dell NetWorker VMware Integration guide and in article: NVP vProxy: How To Unregister/Re-Register a vProxy Appliance?
