Cause

Il server vCenter è stato aggiunto a NetWorker utilizzando il nome breve alias. NetWorker VMware Integration Guide afferma che l'utilizzo di un alias FQDN o di un alias di nome breve diverso per il server vCenter durante l'aggiunta a NetWorker non è supportato per il plug-in vCenter.

Resolution

Non è possibile utilizzare il plug-in NetWorker del web client vCenter o l'interfaccia utente vCenter (VCUI) se vCenter è stato aggiunto a NetWorker utilizzando il suo alias di nome breve. Quando si aggiunge un vCenter a NetWorker, il nome vCenter è integrato in qualsiasi backup eseguito; il che significa che per eseguire i restore da vCenter, deve esistere in NetWorker. Il nome esiste come id client per il vCenter Server nel database e non utilizza il DNS per risolvere il nome breve nel nome di dominio completo. Se la risorsa con nome breve "NSR Hypervisor" viene rimossa da NetWorker per aggiungerla nuovamente con l'FQDN, non è possibile ripristinare i backup delle VM ricavati dalla precedente voce "shortname". Una voce duplicata per vCenter con FQDN non può essere aggiunta se esiste già una voce che utilizza il nome breve. Questo problema è stato rilevato ai tecnici NetWorker e non è stato stabilito alcun metodo supportato per la correzione di questo problema di configurazione.

Il plug-in NetWorker vCenter e VCUI non sono necessari per l'esecuzione di operazioni di backup/restore VMware; Le seguenti interfacce utente possono comunque essere utilizzate se vCenter è stato aggiunto utilizzando il nome breve alias:
  • NetWorker Management Console (NMC): console basata su Java.
  • NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI): console basata su HTML.
