Symptoms

Dbsapps_temp_dir folder created by PowerProtect Data Manager under C drive, which can occupy several GBs of space.

Cause

During an Active Directory NTDS restore, several files or folders to be replaced may be in use by the system.

A temporary folder called C:\dbsapps_temp_dir is created on the target server where all the files and folders to be replaced after reboot are stored.

Once the restore is completed, a server reboot is required so the files can be replaced before booting the server again.

Resolution

Ensure that the target server is rebooted before safely removing the folder.
