Cause

The RACADM utility for iDRAC was intentionally removed from OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) 11.1.0 as the iDRAC Tools package offered separately containS newer and more numerous RACADM releases than what OMSA offered. The latest iDRAC Tools package at this article release is version 11.3 and OMSA's last version is 11.1.0 which corrects issues for customers that subscribe to the Dell YUM repository on linux.dell.com for iDRAC Tools and or OMSA updates.

Due to changes to RPM metadata on the Dell repository there still exists an uncorrectable issue for customers what have RACADM version 11.2 or earlier already installed that causes the RPM engine to offer to not only remove iDRAC Tools RPMs, but also unexpectedly offers a full OMSA install instead.

Resolution

Instead of issuing yum update srvadmin-idrac" to update RACADM and iDRAC Tools to version 11.3 (or newer), issue yum install srvadmin-idrac to properly upgrade iDRAC Tools only.

This issue does not affect the broader "yum update" action which offers the correct iDRAC Tools install and any other unrelated updates offered by Red Hat or SuSE.
