This article applies to This article does not apply to This article is not tied to any specific product. Not all product versions are identified in this article.

Instructions

By default Data Domain posts an alert when space utilization reaches 90%. However, this can be changed while utilization is between 50% and 90% depending on individual requirements.

Set the warning level for space usage with the following commands. The warning threshold can be between 50-90%. For example, to set the warning at 75% space usage:
sysadmin@datadomain# filesys option set warning-space-usage 75
sysadmin@datadomain# filesys option show warning-space-usage
warning-space-usage percentage is: 75

Set the critical space threshold with the following commands. The critical threshold can be between 75%-98%. For example, to set critical space usage at 85%:
sysadmin@datadomain# filesys option set critical-space-usage 85
sysadmin@datadomain# filesys option show critical-space-usage
critical-space-usage percentage is: 85

The critical-space-usage percentage should be set higher than the warning-space-usage percentage.
