Symptoms

The storage array automatically generates a self-signed certificate on initialization. This certificate expires after three years and should automatically regenerate one month prior to its expiration date. This automatic regeneration fails.

Cause

A code issue was identified as the reason for the failure.

The TRiiAGE_full_StartLog or c4 start logs report the expiration event as days drop down to a negative number:

check_cert.sh Days until ssl certificate start date: -957
...
check_cert.sh Days until ssl certificate expires: -50
check_cert.sh Days until ssl certificate start date: -1145
 

Resolution

Manually regenerated the certificate by following KB article KB 22509
Upgrade to the latest target code level.
