Symptoms
- Client Direct feature is not working on Informix backup.
- Informix backup goes to the storage node (not directly to the target).
- Filesystem backups use Client Direct.
- Advanced File-Type Device (AFTD) created on a NAS server that is NFS-mounted to the storage node.
Cause
The NAS appliance is configured to use secure ports, which blocks non-root user from writing to the device.
Resolution
The NFS server must also not restrict access to clients by using only privileged ports.
Change the NFS settings on the NAS appliance to disable the use of secure ports.
Review the AFTD creation requirements outlined in the NetWorker Administration Guide for more details.
