Windows Hello is a new way to sign in to your devices, apps, online services, and networks. It is more secure than using a password, because it uses "biometric authentication"—you sign in with your face, iris, or fingerprint (or a PIN).
Even if your Windows 10 device can use Windows Hello, you do not have to. If it is the right choice for you, you can rest assured that the info that identifies your face, iris, or fingerprint never leaves your device. Windows never stores pictures or images of your face, iris, or fingerprint on your device or anywhere else.
Windows Hello requires specialized illuminated infrared camera for facial recognition or a finger print reader which supports the Window-Biometric Framework.

Click Settings and click Accounts, then Sign in options.
You must set up a PIN code before you are allowed to use Windows Hello. So click the Add button under PIN to set that up. Once you have done that the options to set up Windows Hello will unlock.
You will now see which options are available to set up under Windows Hello, Since we are looking at facial unlock you see an option for Face. Click Set Up.
The next screen will give you a little background on what Windows Hello is. Click Get started.
The next step could happen incredibly quickly. Position yourself so your face is in the center of the frame that appears on-screen. The camera will then do what it must do to register your face.
Once you are set up you have an option that allows you to improve recognition. This is useful if you wear glasses, for example, as it allows you to be recorded with them on and without them on.
Now, when you go back to Settings you have the option again to improve recognition, remove your face, a toggle to turn on unlocking your computer when it sees your face and an added security option that will require you to turn your head left and right for verification.
After following these steps, you will be set up with face recognition on Windows Hello.
If you want to add an extra layer of security to your laptop, consider using an integrated fingerprint reader. Your fingerprints are unique to you, making them a secure way to log in to your computer. It is also easier than memorizing a password. If your laptop has a fingerprint reader that is built in, you can set up the functionality in Windows Hello.
To set up Windows Hello fingerprint logins:
Go to Settings > Accounts.
Scroll to Windows Hello and click Set Up in the Fingerprint section. If you do not have a PIN, you must create one to set up the fingerprint reader.
Click Get Started.
Enter your PIN.
Scan your finger on the fingerprint reader. You have to do this multiple times to give the scanner a good picture of your prints.
Click Add Another if you want to repeat the process with another finger, or close the program.
After following these steps, you will be able to set up Fingerprint Login on Windows Hello.
