Symptoms
Policy Domain Manager (PDM) degraded alerts are triggered when there are more than 20,000 operations queued.
Cause
PDM can queue several background tasks that run when a DomainTag job is run.
DomainTag will run 100 operations per job run causing unprocessed operations to remain queued until the next DomainTag job is run. An alert is triggered when the accumulation of those operations exceeds 20,000.
Run the following command to determine how many PDM Queue (PDM PQ) operations there are:
isi_pdm operations status
Also, check how often DomainTag jobs run:
isi job reports list --job-type=DomainTag
Resolution
Run DomainTag jobs more frequently.
If the queued operations count exceeds 10,000, open a PowerScale Support case for assistance with using the SnapGov Cleanup Tool to process excessive queued operations.
