Activation Failed for Dell Encryption Enterprise for Server

During activation, user receives: Activation failed for [USERNAME]. The user name or password is incorrect.

In the logs, output shows:
[07.18.16 12:03:04:249 User: 1807 H] Event Engine ‐ Shield for Server OS Activations are enabled on the server [07.18.16 12:03:04:265 User: 1882 E] Event Engine ‐ Failed to login supplied user for manual authentication [win error = 1326] [07.18.16 12:03:04:265 WCFRequestProce: 817 H] Event Engine ‐ Manual Activation result = 1326, The user name or password is incorrect.
Cause
Not Applicable
Résolution
This error may be due to:
- Insufficient rights
- Dell Encryption Enterprise for Server requires domain administrator privileges to activate.
- Incorrect credentials
- The domain account used to authenticate may have had a password change and may need the correct password that is submitted in manage domain.
- Incorrectly associated domain
- The domain administrator must be part of the same parent and child domain that is configured during setup.
- Post installation the domain can be modified or verified at:

- Back up the Registry before proceeding, reference How to Back Up and Restore the Registry in Windows

- Editing the Registry can cause the computer to become unresponsive on the next reboot.
