Symptoms

PowerEdge T350 Platform running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x reports ACPI Error alerts while booting. 

Example:

ACPI Error: AE_NOT_FOUND, Evaluating _PSS (20210105/processor_perflib-315):

bootup errors 

Errors only appear during boot and do not represent an underlying impact on the Operating System.

Cause

Alerts are only seen while the BIOS is set to Performance Profile.

This is a BIOS ACPI syntax error remaining harmless to the Linux OS. 

Resolution

Update BIOS to the latest version.
