Dell has worked closely with our HDD and SSD manufacturers to improve error-handling routines of the drive firmware. This firmware update improves error handling and the overall quality of your system. This software kit upgrades qualifying drives to the latest firmware and is inclusive of all earlier kits.

Minimum required PS Series Firmware is version 8.1.

There are several methods for identifying Hard Disk Drives:

• Group Manager
  • Select the Member or Disks.
  • A list of the drives installed displays the model numbers.
• SAN HeadQuarters
  • Click on a Group, Hardware, or Disks.
  • A list of the disk models appears in the list view.
• CLI
  • Issue these commands:

Member select (groupname)
Disk select 1
