Removing the Speakers

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. VESA stand
    2. back cover
    3. VESA mount bracket
    4. system-board shield
    5. I/O board shield
    6. speaker cover
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the speaker cables from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Unthread the cables from the notches [2].

  4. Remove the screws that secure the speakers to the chassis. Lift the speakers from the computer.
