Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

    5. SSD card

    6. palmrest

    7. WWAN card

    8. WLAN card

    9. speaker

    10. hinge cover

    11. display assembly

  3. Disconnect the power-connector cable from its connector on the system board. Figure displaying disconnecting eDP cable.
  4. Disconnect the speaker cable [1] and SIM board cable [2] [3] from their connectors on the system board. Figure displaying removal of speaker and SIM board cable.
  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer chassis [1].
    2. Remove the system board from the computer [2].
