Removing the M.2 2280 solid-state drive

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the battery.

About this task

NOTE:This laptop support M.2 2230 solid-state drive or M.2 2280 solid-state drive in both SSD slots.

Steps

  1. Remove the single (M2x4) screw that secures the solid-state drive thermal bracket and the solid-state drive to the system board.
  2. Lift the solid-state drive thermal bracket off the system board.
  3. Slide and lift the solid-state drive off the solid-state drive slot.
