Removing the I/O board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the right fan.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board and I/O board.
  2. Lift the I/O-board cable from the system board.
  3. Remove the screw (M2x4) that secures the USB Type-C port bracket to the system board and lift the bracket off the I/O board.
  4. Remove the screw (M2x4) that secures the I/O board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  5. Lift the I/O board off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
