PowerProtect Database Application Agent 19.15 Installation and Administration Guide

Orchestrated Application Protection with Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases

The database application agent 19.2 introduced the Orchestrated Application Protection feature on Linux x64. This feature provides backups and restores of Microsoft SQL Server on Linux, MongoDB, MySQL Community Edition, and PostgreSQL databases and transaction logs. The Orchestrated Application Protection feature provides the Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL Community Edition, and PostgreSQL backups to a DD Boost device, and enables the restores from the DD Boost device. The new database application agent programs ddbmoappbackup and ddbmoapprecover perform these backups and restores by using the native Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL utilities.

The database application agent support of Orchestrated Application Protection requires the installation of the DD BoostFS client package, as described in DD BoostFS software.

Orchestrated Application Protection Operations on Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases provides details about how to configure and use the ddbmoappbackup and ddbmoapprecover programs. These programs protect the Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL Community Edition, and PostgreSQL data through the Orchestrated Application Protection feature.
