Removing the Display Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

    5. palmrest

    6. display-hinge brackets

  3. Disconnect the WLAN and WWAN cables from their connectors [1] and release the cables through their routing channels [2]. Figure displaying how to disconnect the WLAN cables from its connector and how to release the WLAN cables from its routing channels.
  4. Disconnect the display cable from the system board. To disconnect the display cable:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the display-cable bracket to the computer [1].
    2. Remove the display-cable bracket to access the display cable [2].

  5. Release the display cable from its routing channel. Figure displaying how to release the display cable through its routing channels.
  6. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly [1] and lift the display assembly to remove it from the computer [2]. Figure displaying how to remove the display assembly from the computer.
