User Configuration and Access Control

You can setup user accounts with specific privileges (role-based authority) to manage your system using iDRAC and maintain system security. By default, iDRAC is configured with a local administrator account. The default iDRAC username and unique password are provided with the system badge unless default credentials were specified at time of purchase, then iDRAC is configured with the default password. As an administrator, you can setup user accounts to allow other users to access iDRAC. The defined user roles are administrator, operator, read-only, or none and there are 9 different privileges that can be configured separately from these roles. For more information, see the iDRAC9 User Guide.

You can also use directory services such as Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP to setup user accounts. Using a directory service provides a central location for managing authorized user accounts.
