Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery
    2. SD card
    3. access panel
    4. hard drive
    5. optical-drive
    6. keyboard
  3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer.

  4. Flip the computer and disconnect the touchpad cable and power-button cable from the system board.

  5. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the system board. Lift and release the tabs on palmrest from the slots on the computer.

  6. Lift the palmrest at 45–degree angle and remove it from the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the palmrest from the computer.
