Removing the Display Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery
    2. SD card
    3. base cover
    4. keyboard
    5. palmrest
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the WLAN cable from the system board [1].
    2. Unroute the WLAN cables from the slot [2].
    3. Remove the screw that secures the heatsink to the computer.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration: Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless solution.
    1. Disconnect the LVDS cable from the system board [1].
    2. Unroute the cable from the slot [2].
    3. Remove the screws and pull the antenna cables from the holes on the base chassis that secure the display assembly to the computer.

  5. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the computer and lift the display assembly from the computer.
