Purpose

This document describes how to configure, run, and use ResourcePak Base for z/OS to manage your storage environment.

Audience

This document is intended for the host system administrator, system programmer, or operator who is involved in managing or operating the storage environment.

Coverage

This document describes ResourcePak Base for z/OS when used with the following storage system operating environments:

PowerMaxOS 5978
HYPERMAX OS 5977
Enginuity 5876

NOTE:For information pertaining to earlier operating environment levels, see prior versions of this guide.

CLI conventions

Command line interface (CLI) documentation conventions are as follows:

italic—Used for variables in commands and parameters, for example: DISPLAY ccuu
< >—Angle brackets enclose variables or explanatory text when it includes multiple words, for example: <list of device numbers>
[ ]—Square brackets enclose optional values, for example: DISPLAY [DETAIL]
|—A vertical bar indicates alternate selections (the bar means “or”), for example: RUN|NORUN
{ }—Braces are used together with the vertical bar (|) to indicate the start and end of alternate selections, for example: {DEV symdv#|CUU ccuu}
...—An ellipsis indicates nonessential information omitted from the command output example.
Keywords appear in uppercase (for example, ALL). They must be spelled exactly as shown.
For easy reference, command keywords can be supplemented by lowercase letters to form a meaningful word (for example, CoNTROLler). When typing a command, use only CAPITALIZED characters of any keyword.
Aside from the characters listed above, you must type all other characters that are shown in the syntax statements.
