A virtual machine file-level restore (FLR) performed through the NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance fails with the error "The guest operations agent could not be contacted." The vProxy cannot communicate with the guest operating system because VMware Tools is not installed, not running, or running an outdated version on the target virtual machine. This issue applies to all NetWorker and vProxy versions and can affect virtual machines running any guest operating system. Installing or updating to the latest available version of VMware Tools on the target VM resolves the issue.

In Dell NetWorker environments where backup and clone actions are configured within the same workflow, the nsrim process may prematurely delete both full and incremental save sets from the clone volume even though dependent save sets still exist and have not yet expired. This breaks the backup chain on the clone device, rendering recovery from the clone impossible if the primary backup volume becomes unavailable.

Users are unable to launch the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) UI. After downloading and opening gconsole.jnlp, the application begins loading but fails during startup. OpenWebStart reports an XML parsing error and the NMC UI does not launch.

The NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance is used to protect the vSphere environment. After upgrading the NetWorker server, vProxy VM backups fail. The vProxy cannot open a target directory on the Data Domain. The failure occurs because the NetWorker storage node runs an older version than the NetWorker server.

The PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) appliance is used to protect Windows file system assets. A File Level Restore (FLR) of a large file system fails with "Unable to mount the save set." The iSCSI service times out before the backup image can be fully mounted. The timeout occurs because the default SCSI timeout values are too short for large file systems.

NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backups fail because the vProxy cannot lock the virtual machine at the start of the backup workflow. A previous backup operation left VM lock attributes in place after encountering a problem during execution. The stale lock prevents new backup operations from starting on the affected VM.

NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backups fail with a "-500: Panic occurred: runtime error" when the /data01 partition on the vProxy appliance reaches 100% capacity. The /data01 partition stores backup session logs with a default retention of one month. When the partition is full, the vProxy cannot write session logs and the backup process panics.

NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy backups fail with "The VM backup request is not valid" after repeated retry attempts. The NetWorker server reports that the Data Domain (DD) has reached its maximum read stream count. The DD read stream exhaustion prevents new backup sessions from being established on the NetWorker storage node.
