NetWorker Module for Microsoft

Dell NetWorker remediation is available for the Apache Log4j Remote Code Execution Vulnerability that may be exploited by malicious users to compromise the affected system. Dell Technologies recommends implementing this remediation as soon as possible in light of the critical severity of the vulnerability.

A File Level Recovery (FLR) is performed for a Windows Virtual Machine (VM) using the NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance. The FLR fails with the message "Some objects, or security properties could not be recovered." For some files, these same files cannot be copied manually from the FLR mountpoint. The source and target VM are different VMs. The VM selected for restore has been configured with the Windows File Server Data Deduplication feature enabled.

The NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance is configured to back up a SQL Server 2022 Virtual Machine (VM) using MSVMAPPAGENT. The backup fails with "'Unable to log in to SQL Server instance. Error Code = 1359.'"

Root account access through the vProxy appliance is lost.

The customer is using an A:\ drive USB to load disk drivers or the ISO for Avamar, NetWorker, or PowerProtect Data Manager BMR. The BMR process needs the C:\ to be disk 0 after drivers are loaded or we receive a Critical volume error. The USB disk is loaded together with the Virtual CD iso image.

NetWorker REST Application Programming Interface (API) queries fail with error message: HTTP status 404 - Not Found "The Requested Resource is Not Available. The origin server did not find a current representation for the target resource or is not willing to disclose that one exists."

NMC: Modify client wizard generates a pop-up error "connecting to host failed: loaded plugin is not signed.

Virtual Machine (VM) restore fails, and VM disk file is removed or zeroed out during VM restore operation. The vProxy VM was vMotioned in VMware due to VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) settings.

One or multiple Virtual Machine (VM) backups fail with "VMware proxy is not available for datastores X."

NetWorker Management Console (NMC) UI Monitoring displays a job's timestamp in the date format as mm/dd/yyyy and time in 12-hour format instead of the regional setting of yyyy/mm/dd and time in 24-hour time format.

The NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) integration is configured with the vProxy Appliance. The virtual machine (VM) backup for VMs shows orphaned NetWorker backup tasks in vCenter.
