vSAN (Virtual SAN) requires disk‑group layout conversion from 32‑bit to 64‑bit to use large drives (≥16 TB for space‑efficiency‑disabled, ≥4 TB for enabled). Health warning shows 32‑bit; fix by evacuating data and recreating the group. Without it, the large drive is ignored. Upgrading to vSphere 19 and recreating gave no 64‑bit option; capacity remains 64 GB with 20 TB disks, so the 16 TB limit persists.
