How to replace the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230 on a Optiplex Micro 3090

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230 and a Optiplex Micro 3090. The procedure will also include removing the Side Cover, Hard Drive Assembly 2.5 inch and reinstalling them.

Removal

Side Cover

Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the thumb screw that secures the side cover to the system.

Slide and lift the side cover off the system.

Hard Drive Assembly 2.5 inch

Identify the hard drive assembly highlighted in blue.

Press the release tabs on the hard drive assembly and slide it towards the front of the system.

Lift the hard drive assembly from the system.

Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.

Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.

Slide and lift the SSD from the system board.

Install

Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.

Align the notch with the tab and slide the SSD to its connector on the system board.

Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.

Hard Drive Assembly 2.5 inch

Identify the hard drive assembly location highlighted in blue.

Place the hard drive assembly into the slot on the system.

Slide the hard drive assembly towards the connector on the system board until the release tabs click into place.

Side Cover

Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.

Place and slide the side cover towards the back of the system.

Tighten the thumb screw that secure the side cover to the system.
