Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system base.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently pry clips on the base cover to release them from the slots on the system base.
Lift the base cover off the system base.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module
Lift the bracket off the wireless module
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the wireless module
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) highlighted in blue
Remove the screw that secures the metal bracket to the wireless module (WWAN).
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently disconnect the cables from the connectors on the wireless module (WWAN).
Remove the wireless module (WWAN) from the connector on the system board.
Display Hinge Cover
Turn the system around as per video to enable AR procedure
Identify the display hinge caps highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the display hinge cap to the system
Lift the display hinge caps away from the display hinges
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue
Unroute the wireless module (WLAN and WWAN) cables from the routing channels
Remove the screws that secure the display cable
Lift the metal bracket that secures the display cable.
Pull the tape to disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the system.
Unroute the wireless module (WLAN & WWAN) cables through the LCD hinge mount holes
Unroute the display cable through the LCD hinge mount holes
Disconnect the IR cable from the connector on the system board. (optional step - depend on configuration)
Turn the system over
Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the system
Open the display
Lift to remove the display assembly from the system.
Install
Display Assembly
Close the display and route the display and wireless module cables through the LCD hinge mount holes to prevent cable damage
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue
Align the display assembly with the screw holders on the system
Install the screws that secure the display assembly to the system.
Turn the system over
Connect the IR cable to the connector on the system board. (optional step - depend on configuration)
Route the display cable through the routing channels
Route the wireless module (WLAN & WWAN) cables through the routing channels
Install the screws that secure the display assembly to the system.
Connect the display cable to the connector on the system board.
Install the metal bracket that secures the display cable.
Install the screws that secure the display cable
Route the wireless module (WLAN and WWAN) cables through the routing channels
Display Hinge Cover
Identify the display hinge cap locations highlighted in blue
Place the display hinge caps on the display hinge.
Install the screws that secure the hinge caps to the system (repeat on the other side).
Turn the system around as per video to enable AR procedure
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) location highlighted in blue
Insert the wireless module (WWAN) into the connector on the system board.
Connect the cables to the connectors on the wireless module (WWAN).
Install the screw to secure the wireless module (WWAN) to the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module location (WLAN) highlighted in blue
Align the notch on the wireless module with the tab on the slot and slide the wireless module into the slot
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Align the screw hole on the bracket with the screw hole on the wireless module
Install the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Route the battery cable through the routing clip and connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover tabs to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screw that secures the base cover to the system base.
