Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Loosen the captive screws on the base cover.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover near the hinges to release it from the system.
Remove the base cover by loosening the sides and front.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Carefully disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
SSD
System Fan
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the display hinge.
Lift to open the left display hinge.
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board and optional power button fingerprint cable.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board.
Lift the I/O board from the palmrest.
Power Button
Identify the power button (with optional fingerprint) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the power button to the system.
Lift the power button, along with the optional cable, from the system.
Install
Power Button
Identify the power button (with optional fingerprint) location highlighted in blue.
Install the power button into the slot on the system.
Install the screw that secures the power button to the system.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Install the I/O board into the slot on the palm rest using the alignment posts.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board.
Connect the I/O board and optional power button fingerprint cable. Close the latch to secure.
Close the left hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws to secure the left hinge.
System Fan

Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Install the base cover and press the edges and sides until it snaps into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
