How to replace the Top Cover on a Precision 5860 Tower

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Top Cover and a Precision 5860 Tower. The procedure will also include removing the Side Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Side Cover

Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.

Using a phillips screwdriver to turn the side panel latch to the unlocked position.

Pull the release latch to release the side cover from the system.

Push the latch and release the side cover from the system.

Lift the side cover away from the system.

Top Cover

Identify the top cover highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the top cover to the system.

Slide and remove the top cover away from the system.

Install

Top Cover

Identify the top cover location highlighted in blue.

Align and install the top cover on the system.

Install the screws that secure the top cover to the system.

Side Cover

Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.

Align the tabs with the slots and install the side cover on the system.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the side-panel latch to the locked position.
