Removal
Cable Cover
Identify the cable cover highlighted in blue.
Slide the cable cover lock to release the cable cover from the chassis.
Slide and lift the cable cover off the back of the chassis.
Dust Filter
Identify the dust filter highlighted in blue.
Pry and remove the dust filter from the front cover.
Left Side Cover
Identify the left side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the left side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the left side cover from the chassis.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover highlighted in blue.
Gently pry and release the tabs that secure the front cover to the chassis.
Rotate the front cover outwards and lift it away from the chassis.
Drive Bay
Identify the drive bay highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the optical drive data and power cables from the optical drive.
Unroute the optical drive data and power cables from the routing guide on the drive bay.
Disconnect the hard drive data and power cables from the hard drive.
Lift the drive bay at an angle to release the tabs from the chassis.
Slide and remove the drive bay from the chassis.
Fan Shroud
Identify the fan shroud highlighted in blue.
Press the securing clips to release the fan shroud from the fan and heat sink assembly.
Lift the fan shroud off the fan and heat sink assembly.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Remove the processor fan and heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video)
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Press down and push the release lever away from the processor to release it from the securing tab and then extend it completely.
Flip open the processor cover.
Remove the processor from the processor socket.
Install
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever and the processor cover are fully extended in the open position.
Align the notches on the processor with the tabs on the socket and place it on the socket.
Once the processor is fully seated, close the cover and push the lever down, securing it under the tab.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or pad included with the heatsink. Apply in a spiral pattern.
Install the processor fan and heat sink assembly on the system board and align it with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Connect the processor fan cable to the system board.
Fan Shroud
Identify the fan shroud location highlighted in blue.
Place the fan shroud on the fan and heat sink assembly.
Press the fan shroud against the fan and heat sink assembly to snap the fan shroud in place.
Drive Bay
Identify the drive bay location highlighted in blue.
Slide and secure one side of the drive bay to the chassis.
Press down the other end of the drive bay securing the tabs on the drive bay with the slots on the chassis.
Connect the hard drive data and power cables to the hard drive.
Connect the optical drive data and power cables to the optical drive.
Route the optical drive data and power cables through the guide on the drive bay.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the front cover tabs into the slots on the chassis.
Insert and rotate the front cover towards the chassis and press it into place.
Left Side Cover
Identify the left side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the left side cover into the chassis.
Tighten the screws that secure the left side cover to the chassis.
Dust Filter
Identify the dust filter location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the dust filter with the grooves on the front cover, then press it into place.
Cable Cover
Identify the cable cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the cable cover to the slots on the back of the chassis.
Insert the tabs on the cable cover into the slots on the back of the chassis and slide it downward.
Slide the cable cover lock to secure the cable cover to the chassis.
