Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using your fingertips, pry the base cover from the bottom left and continue on the sides to loosen.
Slide and lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Push the switch upward on the battery cable connector to the OFF position to disconnect power from the battery.
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the thermal shield to the system board.
Slide and remove the solid state thermal shield off the SSD.
Slide and remove the SSD from the SSD slot.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD mounting bracket to the SSD.
Lift the SSD off the SSD mounting bracket.
Install
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Slide the SSD into the SSD mounting bracket.
Install the screw that secures the SSD mounting bracket to the SSD.
Slide and place the SSD into the SSD slot.
Slide and place the solid state thermal shield on the SSD.
Install the screw that secures the thermal shield to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide down the switch on the battery cable connector to restore power from the battery.
Align and slide the base cover, then press along the edges until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
