Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, moving in an anti-clockwise direction beginning from the top left corner, pry the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.
Remove the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the wireless module.
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Unroute the wireless module (WLAN) cables from the routing channel along the left fan and under the heatsink.
Place the computer on a flat surface near the edge with the display open. Make sure the display is supported.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the display hinges to the system board.
Lift the display assembly upwards to separate it from the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Install
Display Assembly
Place the palm rest and keyboard assembly on a flat surface near the edge.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the display assembly perpendicularly onto the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Install the screws to secure the display hinges to the system board.
Connect the display cable on to the connector on the system board.
Route the wireless module (WLAN) cables under the heat sink and through the routing channel along the left fan.
Fold back the display assembly with the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the wireless module into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Align the screw hole on the bracket with the screw hole on the WLAN.
Install the screw that secures the bracket and wireless module to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the palm rest and keyboard assembly, and snap the base cover into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
