Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Carefully pry the base cover from the top corner to the front of the system.
Slide forward and lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Peel the tapes that secure the battery cable to the battery.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the battery.
Lift the battery off the palm rest assembly
Rear Cover
Identify the rear cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws on the back of the system that secure the rear cover.
Remove the screws that secure the rear cover to the system board.
Push the rear cover away from the system and lift it off the system
SSD
Wireless module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.
Lift the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the wireless module.
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.
Hold the edges and carefully lift the memory module up from connector on the system board.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Peel the tapes that secure the WLAN antenna cables.
Unroute the WLAN antenna cable from the left fan.
Peel the tapes on the display cable - there is tape on top and the back side.
Open the metal latch, and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the power adapter port bracket.
Remove the bracket that secures the power adapter port from the power-adapter port.
Disconnect the power adapter port cable from the system board.
Lift the power adapter port and peel the cable from the system board.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cables from the system board
Open the latch and disconnect the power button cable from the USB board.
Remove the screws that secure the Type-C bracket to the system board
Remove the Type-C bracket from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the left fan and system board
Remove the screws that secure the right fan and LAN board
Lift up the system board assembly away from the palmrest.
USB Board
Identify the USB board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the USB board to the system board.
Slide and remove the USB Board from the system board.
Install
USB Board
Identify the USB board location highlighted in blue.
Insert the USB board into the connector on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the USB board to the system board.
System Board Assembly
Ensure that the palm rest assembly is placed face down.
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the system board assembly on the palm rest, using the alignment posts.
Install the screws that secure the right fan and LAN board.
Install the screws that secure the left fan and system board.
Install the Type-C bracket and align the screw holes on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the Type-C bracket to the system board.
Connect the power-button cable to the USB board. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the fan cables to the system board.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port location highlighted in blue.
Install the power adapter port into the slot and adhere the cable to the system board.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Install the bracket over the power adapter port.
Install the screws to secure the power adapter port bracket.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the display cable to the system board, close the latch and adhere the tapes.
Route the WLAN antenna cables through the routing guides on the fan.
Adhere the tape that secures the antenna cables to the system board.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the slot and slide the memory into the slot at an angle.
Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
Wireless module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Align the screw hole on the bracket with the screw hole on the WLAN card.
Install the screw that secures the WLAN and bracket to the system.
SSD
Rear Cover
Identify the rear cover highlighted in blue.
Slide the rear cover towards the system till it snaps into place
Install the screws that secure the rear cover to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the rear cover on the back of the system.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue
Install the battery and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Adhere the tapes securing the battery cable to the battery.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Slide the base cover into place and press the edges until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover.
