Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system base.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently pry clips on the base cover to release them from the slots on the system base.
Lift the base cover off the system base.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity
Option Battery
Keyboard
Turn the system over and open the display
Identify the keyboard trim highlighted in blue
Using a plastic scribe or flat head screwdriver, gently pry the keyboard trim from the edges and lift away from system
Close the display and turn the system over
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable and keyboard cable from the connector
Turn the system over and open the display
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the system
Pry the keyboard from the edge and lift the keyboard with the cable(s) from the system.
Install
Keyboard
Turn the system over and open the display
Identify the keyboard location highlighted in blue
Hold the keyboard and route the keyboard cable(s) through the placeholder.
Install the keyboard to align with the screw holders on the system.
Install the screws to secure the keyboard to the system
Turn the system over and close the display
Connect the touchpad cable and keyboard cable to the connectors and secure the latches
Turn the system over and open the display
Option Battery
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Route the battery cable through the routing clip and connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover tabs to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screw that secures the base cover to the system base.
