Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover at the gap near the display hinges.
Use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover, inserting it at intervals to release the top, left, right, and bottom edges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the battery off the palm rest assembly.
Flip the battery.
Peel back the battery cable from the battery.
Disconnect and remove the battery cable from the battery.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Lift the wireless card bracket from the WLAN card.
Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN card.
Slide and remove the wireless card from the system board.
Battery Frame
Identify the battery frame highlighted in blue.
Unroute the WLAN cables from the routing guides on the battery frame.
Remove the screws that secure the battery frame to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the battery frame off the palm rest assembly.
USH Board
Identify the USH board highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the USH board flexible flat cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the USH board to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the USH board from the palm rest assembly.
Install
USH Board
Identify the USH board location highlighted in blue.
Install the USH board on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the USH board to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the USH board flexible flat cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Battery Frame
Identify the battery frame location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the battery frame on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the battery frame to the palm rest assembly.
Route the WLAN antenna cables through the routing guides on the battery frame.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the wireless card into the slot on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the wireless card bracket on the wireless card.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Place and connect the battery cable to its connector on the battery.
Adhere the battery cable to the battery.
Flip the battery.
Align and place the battery into the slot on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the battery to the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the base cover on the palm rest assembly, and snap it into place.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
