Removal
Support bracket
Identify the support bracket highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the support bracket to the chassis.
Remove the support bracket from the chassis.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue.
Press the blue clip and lift the air shroud.
Disengage the air shroud hook from the slot on the chassis and remove the air shroud.
Memory module
Locate the appropriate memory module socket.
To release the memory module from the socket, simultaneously press the ejectors on both ends of the memory module socket to fully open.
Lift the memory module away from the system.
M.2 riser
Identify the M.2 riser highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the riser to the chassis.
Holding the blue tag, lift the riser to disengage from the connector on the system board.
Processor and heat sink module
Select the processor and heat sink module you want to replace.
Using a torx T30 screwdriver, loosen the nuts three turns in sequential order.
Using a torx T30 screwdriver, loosen the nuts completely in sequential order.
Set the anti tilt wires to the unlocked position (inward position).
Lift the processor and heat sink module (PHM) from the system and set the PHM aside with the processor side facing up.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Expansion card riser 1
Identify the riser highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the expansion card riser 1.
Holding the handle, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Expansion card riser 2
Identify the riser highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the expansion card riser 2.
Holding the blue touch point and handle, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
LOM riser card
Identify the LOM riser card highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the LOM card to the system board.
Lift the LOM card from the connector on the system board.
Optional OCP card
Identify the optional OCP card highlighted in blue.
Lift the OCP card retention latch.
Disengage the OCP card and remove it from the sled.
System board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Using a 5 mm hex nut driver, remove the standoff screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
To disengage the ports from the slots on the chassis, slide the system board toward the front of the chassis.
Incline the system board at an angle and lift the system board out of the chassis.
Install
System board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Holding the system board by the edges, lower the system board into the chassis.
Install the system board and align the connectors on the system board with the slots on the rear of the chassis.
Using a 5 mm hex nut driver, secure the standoff screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Using a phillips #2 screwdriver, install the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
To install the TPM, align the edge connectors on the TPM with the slot on the TPM connector.
Insert the TPM into the TPM connector such that the plastic rivet aligns with the slot on the system board.
Press the plastic rivet until the rivet snaps into place.
Install the screw that secures the TPM to the system board.
Optional OCP card
Identify the optional OCP card location highlighted in blue.
Lift the OCP card retention latch.
Align and insert the OCP card into the sled. Slide the OCP card and push firmly until it is fully connected to the system board connector.
Close the OCP card retention latch to secure the card in place.
LOM riser card
Identify the LOM riser card location highlighted in blue.
Align and install the LOM firmly until the LOM card is fully seated in the slot.
Using a phillips #2 screwdriver, install the screws that secure the LOM card to the system board.
Expansion card riser 2
Identify the riser location highlighted in blue.
Lower the riser card firmly until the riser card is fully seated in the slot.
Using a phillips #1 screwdriver, install the screws that secure the expansion card riser 2 on to the system board.
Expansion card riser 1
Identify the riser location highlighted in blue.
Lower the riser firmly until the riser card is fully seated in the slot.
Using a phillips #1 screwdriver, install the screws that secure the expansion card riser 1 on to the system board.
Processor and heat sink module
Confirm the processor and heat sink module you want to replace.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Set the anti tilt wires to the unlocked position on the heat sink (inward position).
Align the pin 1 indicator of the heat sink to the system board, and then place the processor and heat sink on the processor socket.
Set the anti tilt wires to the locked position (outward position).
Using the torx T30 screwdriver, tighten the nuts three turns in sequential order.
Using the torx T30 screwdriver, tighten the nuts completely in sequential order.
M.2 riser
Identify the M.2 riser location highlighted in blue.
Align the M.2 riser with the stand off on the system board and insert it firmly until the riser is fully seated in the slot.
Using a phillips #2 screwdriver, install the screw that secures the riser to the chassis.
Memory module
Locate the appropriate memory module socket.
Align the edge connector of the memory module with the alignment key of the memory module socket, and insert the memory module in the socket.
Press the memory module with your thumbs until the ejectors firmly click into place.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue.
Align the slot on the air shroud with the standoff on the system.
Lower the air shroud until the blue clip locks in place.
Support bracket
Identify the support bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align the support bracket with the stand off on the chassis.
Using a phillips #1 screwdriver, install the screws that secure the support bracket to the chassis.
