How to replace the Wireless Module (WLAN) on a Precision 3490

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Wireless Module (WLAN) and a Precision 3490. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.

Pry the base cover near the hinges to release it from the system.

Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.

Install

Wireless Module (WLAN)

Base Cover

Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.

Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.

Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
