How to replace the Solid State Drive (SSD) on a ML Dell Pro16 PC16250

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Solid State Drive (SSD) and a ML Dell Pro16 PC16250. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.

Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover along the gap formed near the display hinges.

Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.

Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.

Align the base cover with the screw holes, place it on the palm rest assembly, and snap it into place.

Tighten the captive screws to secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.

Solid State Drive (SSD)

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.

Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system.

Slide and remove the SSD from the system board.

Install

Solid State Drive (SSD)

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.

Align and slide the SSD into the slot on the system board.

Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system.

Base Cover

Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.

Connect the battery cable to its connector on the system board.
