Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Starting at the bottom left corner, carefully pry the base cover along the bottom and sides.
Grasp the bottom and rotate it upwards to release the base cover from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Use the tab to assist in disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws that secure the display cable bracket.
Lift the display cable bracket off the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the display cable holder.
Gently lift to disconnect the display assembly cables (touchscreen and camera).
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the display hinges to the system.
Lift or rotate the palm rest assembly to open the left and right display hinges.
Slide the palmrest assembly away from the display assembly.
Install
Display Assembly
Position the display assembly on a flat table
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue
Slide and install the palmrest assembly under the display assembly.
Push the hinges downward and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the hinges to the palmrest.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue
Connect the display assembly cables (touchscreen and camera).
Install the screws that secure the display cable holder.
Install the display cable bracket, using the alignment posts to position.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the display cable bracket.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align and install hinge first (careful of the cable inside the cover). Press until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
