Removing system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover

    2. bezel

  3. Open the front panel door.
  4. Remove the:
    1. heat sink assembly

    2. processor

    3. expansion card

    4. optional M.2 PCIe SSD

    5. SD card reader

    6. memory module

    7. VGA daughter board

  5. Disconnect the optical drive and hard drive cables [1,2] from the connectors on the system board. Figure displaying how to disconnect the HDD and ODD cables from the system board.
  6. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. PSU [1]
    2. power switch [2]
    3. speaker [3]
    4. PSU [4]
    5. power distribution for optical drive and hard drive [5]
    6. system fan [6]
    7. intrusion switch [7]

  7. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
    2. Slide and lift the system board away from the computer [2].
